Algerian Civil War
The Algerian civil war was a fight between the government of Algeria and various rebel groups. In its ten year span it killed nearly 150,000 people and sent many missing. This was a revolt due to the force election of 1991. During the election one party known as FIS was winning many popular votes and this enraged the other party of the election known as the FLN. The FLN has been ruling Algeria since they gained independence from France. Due to the popular votes the FLN banned the FIS from the election and nearly half of the members were arrested. This started the "dark decade" in Algeria, where rebel groups protested and fought due to their political dispute.
